Machinist- a machine & fabrication shop is seeking to fill a full time 1st shift position in our machining department.  We manufacture small to large scale weldments, machines, gears, and precision parts to customer specifications This employee shall be responsible for producing machined parts from various materials from mechanical drawings.  Both manual and CNC Machines shall be used.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment tools to take accurate measurements.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Proficient in math and analytical abilities (to include but not limited to Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, able to read, comprehend and create written and verbal instructions in the English language
  • Operate manual lathes and mills with minimal supervision
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening
  • Work in accordance with all applicable company procedures, policies and rules
  • Work in a team environment and be willing to assist other employees to benefit the company


Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus
  • May be regularly exposed to noise hazards
  • Will be required to work near moving mechanical parts

Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge of CNC G&M Code
  • Knowledge of Mazatrol
  • Knowledge of the properties of metals and material


Tools Required

Rolling tool box with hand and machinist tools


Education requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) or more years of documented experience
  • A two-year technical school certification or equivalent training plus on the job experience may be substituted for 3 years of experience

A hands-on evaluation will be required to confirm abilities prior to employment which may include but is not limited to:

  • Demonstrate ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
  • Demonstrate ability to calculate proper speed and feed rates
  • Demonstrate ability to use precision measuring equipment
  • Demonstrate familiarity and ability to use Manual Lathe
  • Demonstrate familiarity and ability to use Manual Mill
  • Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of CNC programming including G&M Code programming and Mazatrol
